A gastronomical mountain bike race, a tranquil fly fishing competition and a famous painter’s art

Yes, this year at the Castle Lager East Cape Biltong Festival you will be able to participate in three very diverse activities.



16th July

The world’s only biltong-tasting, beskuit-eating mountain bike race.

A 40 km non-technical mountain bike ride with gastronomical pit stops en route.
R80 per entry.

Entries on race day from 08:00 at the Somerset Vliegveld.

Fly Fishing Competition.

Catch one of the tagged trout and you could win yourself one of four fantastic weekend getaways valued from R1500 to R8000 each.
A fun filled day of fly fishing including a ‘braai’ lunch, your rod fee and a chance at catching “THE” Trout.
R150 per rod.

Meander down one of Somerset East’s most famous streets and pop in to see the spectacular treasure-trove of art from Walter Battiss (a close friend of Pablo Picasso).
